Business & Corporate

Burak Anderson & Melloni PLC’s transactional practice includes domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, purchase and sales of assets, corporate finance, joint ventures, licensing and technology transactions, and other related corporate matters.  We provide a wide range of services on general corporate and partnership matters, securities and private placements, intellectual property, licensing, trade regulation and real estate development.  Our attorneys have been involved in transactions ranging from public company billion-dollar deals to small, private transactions.  The Firm is recognized for its ability to represent parties in complex, multi-state commercial transactions.

We routinely serve as Vermont counsel in business combinations or financings for Fortune 500 companies.  Through experience obtained working at large multi-national law firms, our attorneys have developed strong professional relationships with attorneys across the country and can call upon many other prominent law firms to prove additional services and resources for our clients when needed.  In return, we are dedicated to providing those same firms excellent legal services when asked to serve as local counsel on transactions involving their clients.

The Firm has represented numerous clients in raising equity investments through private placements of securities.  In addition, our attorneys often represent investors in connection with private placements by private and publicly held companies.  We represent underwriters, issuers and remarketing agents in connection with municipal and other tax-exempt and taxable municipal offerings and remarketings.

The Firm has substantial experience representing borrowers, banks and other financial institutions in commercial loan transactions.  This representation includes the restructuring of defaulted loans and other “workout” activities.  The attorneys in the Firm work together and assist lenders in matters involving potential exposure from claims arising from environmental hazards and lender liability theories.

Our attorneys combine a practical goal-oriented approach to each assignment with an emphasis on providing creative structuring and expert legal analysis, advice and drafting.
